Every 12 minutes, another person drops dead due to a lack of care caused by not having health insurance according to a new study released by Harvard Medical School. That’s a 40% higher death rate than people who are covered. The number has more than doubled since 1993 when a previous study was done, thanks to the larger number of uninsured combined with the closure of many alternative places to get care (e.g., free clinics).
