Odd little bit of news: one of the D. C. Special Operations Division policemen assigned to accompany the President and his family when they travel in Washington, bragged about his plans to shoot the First Lady during a briefing on threats to the First Family. He even used his phone to show a picture of the weapon he planned to use.
The officer allegedly made the comments Wednesday morning as several officers from the Special Operations Division discussed threats against the Obamas…During that conversation, the officials said, the officer allegedly said he would shoot the first lady and then used his phone to retrieve a picture of the firearm that he said he would use…An officer overheard the alleged threat and reported it to a police lieutenant at the division, who immediately notified superiors, the officials said…Police officials immediately reassigned the officer to other duties, the police officials said.
Given the GOP’s attitude towards the President and his family, you could be forgiven for believing that this is to be expected from any Republican, even one who has pledged to protect them. But the people who surround the First Family are carefully screened, and I’m surprised that such a person slipped through. I’d also like to know why the policeman was “reassigned” — you or I would be in Gitmo…
