Evolution of the species

on May 19, 2007

There’s an ongoing argument as to whether Kenneth Willard should be allowed to head up the National Association of State Boards of Education. The reason this argument exists is because Willard doesn’t believe in evolution. In fact, it wouldn’t be an understatement to say that he’s violently opposed to children even hearing about it. The idea seems to be that someone who’s opposed to giving children the tools to think for themselves, shouldn’t be representing a national board of education. But since no one is running against Willard for the post, it looks like his position is a shoe-in.

Personally, I’m not sure if I go along with the theory of evolution or not. Since bears are obviously the pinnacle of evolution, you’d think I’d be all for it. But there’s this little nagging doubt in my mind: after all, if bears are the best, then shouldn’t all life on this planet be extinct except for bears? Of course I could find out more by studying up on the subject, but cartoons are coming on and I only have so much time…

In case you, for some idiotic reason, don’t believe that bears are the best species, then how do you explain the government’s newest all purpose robot? It could have been made to look like a man – instead, they call it The Bear. Case closed, and I don’t want to hear anymore about it…. just like Kenneth Willard.
